Job Summary:
The AWS Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise in the design, implementation, and optimization of AWS cloud solutions. This role requires in-depth knowledge of AWS services, cloud architecture, and best practices. The AWS SME will collaborate with various teams to ensure the effective use of AWS technologies to meet business goals and drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on AWS cloud architecture, services, and best practices.
- Design, develop, and implement scalable and secure AWS solutions.
- Lead and participate in technical discussions to solve complex cloud-related challenges.
- Conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to integrate AWS services.
- Develop and maintain documentation for cloud environments and solutions.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, reliability, and security.
- Optimize AWS resources and manage cloud costs.
- Stay updated with the latest AWS offerings and industry trends.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members on AWS technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree is a plus.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (mandatory)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred)
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (preferred)
- Additional AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty or AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty are a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT, with a focus on cloud computing.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS services.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing AWS solutions.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a [relevant clearance level, e.g., Secret, Top Secret, etc.], as required by the position.
- Deep understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of cloud architecture principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and compliance in the cloud.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (Python, Java, PowerShell, etc.).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK Stack).
